We arrived in Brussels early Sunday and made our way to the Netherlands later that morning. Attached, please find some pictures of our tour of the city of Maastricht, visit to the U.S. WW II cemetery where 8,000 U.S. troops were buried before the final allied assault on Nazi Germany, and the Jezuïetenberg (Jesuit Caves) just outside Maastricht city where Jesuit monks made original and copied art pieces on the walls deep inside mountain caves. We also walked along the original Roman Empire wall that fortified the city and then viewed NATO fighter jets doing their maneuvers from Soesterberg Air Base, which is a 24-hour alert interceptor installation for the royal Netherlands Air Force and the NATO Second Allied Tactical Air Force. We hope everyone is well back in the U.S.!

Hi Abigail - We love your photos and you've already seen so much. We can't wait to see some more photos you take and to receive your next 'blog'. It looks as if it might be chilly in the Netherlands, but you're not missing much here because it's raining. Please give dad a 'hug' for us.
