Aachen

Today, I had another trip with my mom and brother. We took the bus to Aachen, Germany. When we arrived, we went inside a palace that is now used as a city hall. When we got inside, we went into multiple rooms. My favorite room was the red room (obviously) with lots of pretty paintings in it. the most precious painting was painted by Martin van Meytens. And the red hall means Peace Hall. We even got to go to the two other floors with more things to see like meeting rooms and more. Then, we went out to lunch and had German Schnitzels. Afterwards, we went inside a beautiful Catholic Church. When we got inside, we saw stained class that went up to the ceiling! We even got to listen to a women singing opera in German! After we walked around the church for a little, we went walking aorund the city for a while. Then, we went inside a chocolate shop and got some sweets. After, we boarded the bus and made our way back to Maastricht. What a fun day in Germany!

  

St. Jan's Tower And Biking To Belgium

On Wednesday, my mom, Braiden, & I had another nice day together. We went up the St. Jans Tower, which was 218 steps (43 meters) high. The site was gorgeous! I learned that the St. Jan's Tower is red because that pigment from the paint used to hold that plaster together, which creates a solid upper layer. After we climbed the tower, we decided to bike to Belguim because it was close by (only two miles away). So, we biked to Belguim and it was a lot of fun. We crossed the border when we biked over a bridge that went over a huge canal. It was so cool! When we got to Belguim, we took pictures and then made our way back to Maastricht.
      

Bruges, Belgium

On Tuesday, my mom, Braiden (my brother), & I went to Brugge. It was about a two hour train ride. We walked to an oasis of religious peace with an inner garden, windtwisted trees, & white-painted gables. Everything was so green and pretty. We even walked to The Market (Market Square) which has been dominated for centuries by the eighteen-meter-high Belfry. The Market is the regular standing place for the city's famous horse-drawn carriages. And we went to so much more! We also went to many chocolate shops that had lots of realistic-looking sweets. We even got some! Brugge is such a stunning and beautiful place with so much to see!

Bike ride to Valkenburg

Three days ago, my family and I went biking to Valkenburg, which is about 10 miles from Maastricht. It was a beautiful ride with lots of things to see! When we arrived, we went walking around and saw lots of yummy parts of the town (food). After, we wanted to see a castle that was close by. Unfortunatly, we couldn't find it because of Siri's bad navigation skills. Oh well. Then, we walked back to find a nice place to eat and we decided on Thai food. Yummy! I got noodles and other things in it. When we finished eating, we biked back to Maastricht and had a nice dinner afterwards. It was a great day.

Amsterdam

A few days ago, we went to visit Amsterdam. After the train ride, we went to the Rijksmuseum museum and saw original Rembrant paintings! Afterwards, we walked around the city for a while and then went out to dinner. I had a chicken burger with fries. When we finished eating, we walked around a bit more, found a nice park to watch boats in the canals, and then took the train back to Maastricht. It was a fun day!

Brussels, Belgium Part II

Yesterday, we went to the Museum of European History and then to the Royal Palace of Brussels where the King and Queen live! We then walked to Grand Place where we attended a Jazz Fest and listened to some fun music. After, we went to dinner across from the European Commission. We then walked to the Embassy of the United States of America. Today, we went walking back to Grand Place and bought some souvenirs and walked through Brussels City Park.
